I have a philosophy that in life, it is the small touches that can create the greatest of environments. I like the little things, and thought Id share an idea. Each game, our rogues award an MVP award to the outstanding townie. Recognising game changing individuals. Merely a badge of honour. We could keep a history to immortalise our great players.
Consensus?

I would prefer not.
Most of us don't agree on the definition of MVP and it would make ROMS into more of a competition than anything else.

The biggest badge of honour a townie can take away from a ROMS game is (as Luvessy has said to me before) making the rogues wish they'd banned you yesterDay.

My serious answer: I don't really see why this would need to be done officially. It seems like something that might lead to bad feelings. (Although I tend to feel like that about a lot of things.) ROMS isn't a competitive sport; it's something we do for fun. If a rogue team wants to praise a particular townie's contribution then they can do so. Often reading the rogue forums/docs and seeing how much you annoyed/worried/inconvenienced the rogues is all the accolades you need, as a townie.

Am I the only one not seeing a problem with this? It's not like he's suggesting the rogues rank the townies from biggest pain in the rogues' asses to smallest pain in the rogues' asses. If anyone's going to get pissy or upset about not being picked, they probably need to remove their head from their rear end. It's just a bit of fun.

I remember when Pip used to hand out tombstones for best death scene. That'd be swell if anyone played anymore.

Oh, I like best death scene stuff. The last time I tried to give something out for that was 9.25, I think, and it kinda got hampered by the fact that, yeah, no one plays anymore. I'm just not sure what purpose an "official" MVP thing would serve except tell the rogues who they should ban first next time.

Tae made commemorative avatars for everyone who posted a scene (victory or death) in XVI. I'll be willing to do something similar to encourage scene makin' in Western ROMS.

Am I the only one of us who still plays the actual game?
In an active flag, at that!

Every once in a while, I log in and damage my rumble stats due to being rusty, and I'm kind of looking forward to the promised kraken. But mostly not.

I'd been playing pretty regularly until the start of this year. Not sure what I'll do once I have Internet again.

I play in spurts. Though this month's LE ship screams to me, so I guess I'll have to go pillage and make poe to get it.

I'm on most days for a short time to check my shop and move stuff.

I miss Pillaging. But I missed pillaging for years before I quit.

People should poke me if they play Cerulean. My flag does a lot of pillages and blocks and stuff. Mostly I run shoppes.

I play a bit, and I know Cala plays more than I do - since she's Royalty and I'm just a peon and all *grins*
I'm on Cerulean as Danae these days, back to my original pirate.

All jokes aside, I log on Emerald (almost) every day to forage and occasionally practice other puzzles. I don't really do much else. My sub lapsed so I'm not on Cerulean very often anymore. For anyone who plays Emerald, I'm Aeryn.

I tried renewing my sub for a month this past December. I was bored with how long it took to do anything, how little was available to me apart from the notice board... I don't want to sit around for three hours at a time anymore. I want to log on, play for a bit, and then go about my day. It took a long time to even get a few rumble matches at the inn. I still much prefer the sub model to the doubloon. I don't want to pick whether I'll be carousing or have officer privileges.

Yeah I tried the dub oceans back when the ROMSers took Viridis for fun. I couldn't get used to it - it just feels like sudden, drastic inflation. I only poker there these days. I do wish I could get the cash back to Cerulean, but at least I've got poe there if I'm ever forced to move.
I guess the nice thing about shoppes is that I always have something short-term to do when I have a free 30 minutes. Run commods, alter prices, do some bidding.

Aeth if you really want to move some PoE to Cerulean we can be naughty sometime and swap. I have 1m or so sitting around doing nothing on Cerulean from when I was playing over there a bit more. I definitely enjoy prices on the sub ocean more than dub oceans, but really these days I just want to puzzle and collect trinkets. Much easier to play where there's something to do when I log on, and I'm not logging on enough to warrant dubscribing anymore.

Dub oceans make me twitch after about 30 mins of being spammed a million times. If there was /mute ship life would be so much nicer
