Nah for me it was the Imperial march. And I just realized it's how I hear it when it plays as a ringtone on my phone and not the proper, high fidelity one. The horror :-p

Oh, and my phone is so old that it can't actually play .mp3 music files, so I can't set one of my favourite songs to be my ringtone/alarm until I end up hating it.

Has anyone who was legit a rogue ever said in the thread "I'm a rogue!" just to syke people out? (Do people still even say that?) Cause for some reason I feel like if someone said that right now in the thread it would cause all sorts of upstarts and would be REALLY interesting to watch.

I think it's "psych people out" and as far as I know it's a legit phrase. I feel like of the players Sets would be most likely to do that for the lulz. I can't see Joly, Crazy or Yasmi ever doing it. I don't know about Leif or Riku.
ETA: No, to my knowledge I don't think anyone has explicitly stated they were a rogue in the thread. There was the Haiku Signature Incident in IV Coconut - where the rogues did haiku ban scenes and one of the rogues changed his signature to a haiku. That got him lynched. And in III someone accidentally posted from the rogue account instead of their own, but that was more an accidental confession than a deliberate psych-out. Not sure what was in Eguee's (the rogue from IV Coconut) head when he did the haiku thing. But I think the evidence suggests people would lynch you just to be sure if you tried it. If I were an innocent in a game where someone did it, I know I'd vote for them. It's the safest thing to do, really.
I'm not sure I see Riku's point about Joly. Someone suggested something that by her logic would benefit the rogue more than the town, so surely it's not unusual to look at that and say "Hm, wonder what's up there?" Especially in the absence of much else interesting to look at.

Yeah, I don't remember her actually doing that in the game. (XVI? I think?) But I don't think she actually did; I think it was a joke that she could say that in the thread and people still wouldn't want to lynch her. It might be true, though probably not in a game of this size.

In Masquerade there was some benefit to the Rogues if they all posted, "I am not a rogue." I'm not sure anyone really ever picked up on that.

While it could have been used to catch them (there were "thump"s posted after each post in which a rogue did that) in practice it might have been hard to figure out given the ways in which some of them found to hide the "I am not a rogue". Some things are quite hard to figure out if you don't know you're looking for them.

The thing I love most about these interim games is the last day, 2 vs. 1, waiting to see what the rogue will choose to do. Who do you try to turn against whom? I know what I'd try to do in this situation.

Joly knows all about the perk. I have Daleen to thank for that, she was so convinced of her proof that Abiona I think it was? was innocent. It wasn't long after that that outside communication became a no no. Daleen and I were SUPPOSED to find each other, but then when she brought in a third party, well, things went downhill for me, but hey. It worked. |

Oh and current game related...
I really don't get the theory that only vocal people would ban Yasmi. Yasmi had posted the least, I'd have been shocked had it been someone other than Yasmi or Crazy. Had it been me, I'd have chosen Sets or Riku Night 1, to get rid of more vocal people, and make it less stressful. No posting means no defending myself.

It can be annoying when other people insist that you did something that you know you wouldn't have done. But I guess, even though you know yourself better than they do, they can't trust you. ROMS is frustrating that way.

Yeah Yasmi is generally an easy target for bans in small games, I wouldn't have banned her for a variety of reasons, being mean would be one of them.
And they are quiet. Makes it easy for the rogue. Which is why they were probably quite gleeful to get rid of me and my yammering.
