Guys, the game isn't going to be able to run with less than 18. Right now we're at 17, with 16 if Riss is unable to play. If you guys are interested in playing, please do us a massive favour by sending out PMs to ROMSers you know, and tell them about the game. As it is, we'll be extending the deadline by one more day. If we're unable to get enough players by 11.59pm PST, 2nd Feb 2013, the game will be cancelled.
Regarding proxies, after a discussion, we feel that they should be okay. The signup post will be edited with necessary details at a later date.
Thanks.

love is worth doing once in your life. It leaves a yukkie taste in your mouth mind, which is why we have love cupcakes. No, that's why we have mouthwash. (Honestly, I can't believe someone said the words "[love] leaves a yukkie taste in your mouth" and no one made a dodgy joke before now. What is wrong with you people?) Edit: That's great, Riss. But everyone else should feel free to invite people to come and play as well; the more the merrier.

More would actually be preferable 18-20 is the minimum and we're already cutting down from what we feel is the ideal number! And thanks, Riss

As number of players approaches infinity, game balance approaches perfection.

Okay, signups are closed; the list in the last post is the player list. We'll roll RNGs and start sending out role PMs once Wrecker gets back from apparently having a really busy day, lol.

Oooh ooh! Yasmi can I have your recipe? Smurf didn't think much of the one I found, and neither did I come to think of it.
Hiding veggies in cake for school is a goal this year.

Decided to take a sneak into my moms recipe book. My mom loves to bake. There's recipes for strawberry cheesecake and other stuff, but I thought I remember seeing a carrot cake recipe. So Phoe or anyone else that's interested - I can find some good recipes and send them to you.

Sweet. School just banned dairy products in lunchboxes. I'm all for healthy options for school lunches but they already banned eggs, nuts, seeds, bananas and fruit juice - home squeezed even. When the smurf only eats cheese sandwiches at school it becomes tricky to send lunch when they ban everything he eats.

Vegemite sandwiches apparently, or meat. Since jam is a "sometimes" food and not allowed every day. Which doesn't help my fussy "I don't like meat this week" son *grins* Doesn't eat vegemite or jam either.

I'm pretty sure processed meat is not exactly "healthy", if that's their concern.
Just as a progress update, we're going to be sending out role PMs shortly.

Yeah, that's totally not who I'd choose to ban...
Wait, what?

PMs have been sent. If you do not have a PM, you are a roleless innocent. If you have questions about roles or the game, feel free to PM the mods. It's preferable that queries be sent to both mods (Furare and wrecker15)
The game will start on Wednesday 6th February, at 4.30pm PST.

When the smurf only eats cheese sandwiches at school it becomes tricky to send lunch when they ban everything he eats. I don't understand these bannings. Well, depending on how lunches are served/eaten, eggs, nuts and seeds can trigger severe allergy attacks (our school system has a 'nut free' policy that can be used when we have severe allergies, like the boy there currently who can't even be touched by someone who has handled peanut butter without a reaction). Bananas seems weird, I've never heard of a banana allergy, and my guess is that they're over compensating the whole 'healthy eating' fad and assume that any juice will have a ton of sugar in it.

Yeah bananas were banned because one kid has an allergy - if the things touch him in any way. Nuts and eggs I can understand, there are kids who have to carry epi pens due to their allergies, but it's getting to the point of ridiculous - and this is a private school, that already banned having food sold by the school - so no canteen/tuck shop options either.

We have a peanut allergy like that, as I said. We have milder berry allergies, which just means we have to make sure that those kids don't have berries, a couple gluten allergies, and a red dye allergy. For the most part, none of it affects all of the kids, just the nut free zone policy. Any treats sent in have to be store bought now, with the label on the package, and there can't be any nuts. There is a special table in the lunchroom marked nut free on it, and any kid that wants to sit there has to show their lunchbox, just to be on the safe side. Then we have a relatively high number of juvenile diabetics (6 out of about 300 kids), but that doesn't affect anything that PTO does, other than if we sponsor a pizza party, I have to make sure I know how many carbs per slice.
I don't get why they can't sell food, they don't have a cafeteria? Or do you mean outside vendors? We don't have any snack machines, but we received a grant this year that allows every kid to have a free snack in the afternoon of fresh fruits or vegetables, along with the one we received that gives every child free breakfast and lunch.

No longer have a cafeteria. The kids eat lunch in their classrooms (which makes the complete school wide bans even less sense since the allergy kids are in grades 6 and 2 this year - my son is in grade 4, he doesn't eat with the allergy kids). I am almost at the point where I will be going to school at lunch time just to feed my son so that he can actually eat something.
I went to this school when I was his age. We had class "clubs" that made ants on a log - peanut butter filled celery with sultanas... no more cooking clubs though. We also had the ability to buy lunch every day - most of us didn't but there was snack options and icy poles. And we weren't fat, we weren't diabetic, there was no allergies. It's all very strange now.

I agree. I have no problem being supportive of the kids that do have the issues, but there are definitely ways around it rather than taking it all away from the kids that don't have them!

I can't imagine the riot that would ensue if we tried to micro-manage lunches like that where I work... Last week I had a kid bring a lunch from home that consisted of a chocolate covered graham cracker, a pack of fruit snacks, and (ironically) a bag of Planters "Men's Health" mixed nuts. Yeah, that's a thing. Seriously. I thought at first that he had packed his own lunch, but no. He did come with a sandwich the next day at least. And this student, who is not eligible for free lunches, owes over 20 dollars at the cafeteria, and they wouldn't give him any food. There used to be sandwiches that the cafeteria had on hand for kids with no lunch and no money, but apparently the budget for that was removed.
