Okay guys, given the responses, with several people not showing up, and some active 'don't think the game should continue' vibes, I'm going to let the game end here. I'm sorry it didn't quite turn out the way I expected it to, but maybe it's a game better reserved for live play. For those that tried to play and stuck it out even through RL and not knowing what to do - thanks. I appreciate that. If you guys want a ROMS game instead, still happy to run that, depending on whether or not there are people I'm not at my computer now, but the password to the discussion thread is avalon. I'll remove the password when I'm home, can't figure out how to do it with a phone.

Sorry guys.
Surprised no one has posted in the last 9 hours, but I guess it is Saturday morning. Since we're done: The Spies were me, AL, Bunny and Joly.
I enjoyed the beginning of the game a lot - when we were trying to figure it all out together.
For the record, the most unfun thing about this game for me was that most folks had no interest in explaining or abilty to explain their suspicions of me, coupled with people just ignoring my responses to them. Once I'd been pegged as a Spy by most of you, I was just in purgatory. My response posts were ignored. Posting a mission team would only hurt my team. Posting suspicions would only hurt my team. Having everyone think I was a Spy for days and not being able to engage to convince them I wasn't left me with nothing sensible I could do. I think that's why the game doesn't work in text format, especially with Days this long.
I really am sick, and I really am busy. None of that was a lie. I did forget about the game for 4 straight days.
Oh, and my plan before I knew I was a Spy was to suggest that the first 3 GMs should be the team..I'd spent quite a bit of time pre-game thinking about Resistance strategies, so I was a bit disappointed to be a Spy. So I just stuck with it once I turned out to be a Spy and it turned out to be convenient. I think we did the right thing Failing the first mission but possibly the wrong thing Failing the 2nd. I should have Rejected the 2nd mission and seen if we could have gotten a more workable team passed once we were in control. Not sure what I would have suggested that team be, but yeah.
I was thrilled not to be the DA. The role really does feel mean and entirely unfun to me. I'm interested to hear their experience.
I'll see if the rest of the Spies are ok releasing our somewhat pathetic Spy Doc and then post that as well.

Thanks for running this Wrecker. It was interesting to try something different for a change. So who were the spies and the double agent? I guess one of the main drawbacks of this as a forum game is the lack of visible reactions that we would get in a face to face game. Without any flips there's nothing to compensate for that. A couple of extra resistance members might help a bit but I don't know if it would be enough to make a difference. Edit: I see I should have previewed first.

Yeah I was a Spy. Not a very good one I'm sure, I tried not to read too much about what the other 3 were doing, so I didn't look like I was collaborating TOO much. We really didn't plan on suggesting the first 3 GMs as a rogue strategy, and I know my thoughts on not bluffing were pretty much, if we can get the first 2, we only need to get 1 more. I don't think any of us wanted to try to get 2 more once we hit needing 2 rogues to fail a mission, that would have been very tricky.
I had fun, but I'm not sure this is best played over time. I'm always up for ROMS.

I have better instincts than I have ability to explain them. I knew things without having any idea how, and I know how unfair it is not to explain these things. So in the end I just stayed away because it was frustrating me to try to make posts. I get enough frustration at work; I don't need it with something that's supposed to be fun. Sorry I disappeared, but I really couldn't summon the energy or the thought power to do anything useful, and the longer I didn't post the harder it became to ever come back. >.>
Honestly, I think that the lack of elimination is what makes the game not work. I think we need some sort of urgency in order to keep the game going properly. That's just my diagnosis on it, though.

Sorry everyone, I vanished recently-I just have a lot going on with school. Very interesting game though, I agree that in a live format it could work better. And I enjoyed the experience... sabotaging a mission was fun.

It's probably best played live cause it really is hard to define suspicions. I guess I forgot about that. It's also much faster in RL, usually. In other news, I bought like 75 bucks worth of stationery yesterday. Hole in my pocket, but I'm a very happy kid

I was DA. It was hard to balance doing things that I knew were bad ideas in order to not make them think I was DA and suspecting people I knew were spies, but it was actually quite fun. I'm sure I played a completely different game than the rest of you, though.
Really the only unfun part about it was the sense of utter hopelessness when I looked and saw that after me and Leif, 4/5 of the next mission leaders were spies. In terms of actual gameplay, it was fun. I'm not really a fan of the role on principle, though.

Lol we really would never have guessed you as the DA riku.
I was incredibly lame this game, so I have guilt because I feel like I didn't give it my best but meh. Thanks for running it anyway, wrecker!!

Also, sorry about ignoring your response, Aeth. I didn't really know how to respond that would convey "Oops, you're right. I was completely wrong about that. But I still know you're a spy anyway, soo...." without also conveying "I'm the DA!" or "I don't suspect you anymore".

Apparently I was unwittingly playing a fairly effective decoy DA.

I knew it!
I had a post explaining for you, Aeth, but the whole, "Should we quit" got in the way.
On the whole, I think the biggest barrier to playing was people not playing.
I'd like to give it a try perhaps not with so many plague victims.

Fair enough, Riku And I guess I was right about you being overconfident, just didn't get why. And yeah, I'd never play this again in a forum format. I never thought I'd be desperate to be lynched, but man.

I agree about the elimination (or lack thereof). It was difficult to stop sorting people into bannable and lynchable categories in my head.
